about chiropractic
Chiropractors are trained to diagnose and treat injuries and abnormalities common to the neck, back and rest of the body.
Chiropractors check the patient’s torso, arms and legs for decreased mobility, signs of swelling, muscle spasm and other problems. By checking spinal reflexes and movement patterns, the doctor can see if the brain is interpreting and reacting to challenges to the system appropriately.
The doctor will then use patient positioning together with an appropriate application of pressure, force and speed to induce a return to normal motion and comfort. This is called an adjustment.
In addition to adjustments... chiropractors may use treatments like: soft tissue therapy (deep-tissue massage), physio-therapy (ultrasound and electric muscle stim), lifestyle/work modifications and nutritional advice.
Rest assured that if you are suffering from neck, back, extremity or other health issues, chiropractic care can help you experience relief from pain, and a return to the activities that you most enjoy.
If your problem is outside of the chiropractic scope of practice, or would be more appropriately managed by another health care practitioner, you will be gladly and promptly referred.
