What a Chiropractor Does…

Chiropractic doctors are trained to diagnose and treat injuries and abnormalities common to the neck, back and the rest of the body. 

By using a number of unique and highly refined skills, chiropractors check the patient’s torso, arms and legs for decreased joint mobility, signs of swelling, muscle spasm or other problems by interpreting signals the nervous system sends to the brain.

The doctor will generally use patient positioning together with an appropriate application of force to induce a return to normal motion and neurologic function.  This is called an adjustment.  In addition to the adjustment, chiropractors may use treatment like soft tissue therapy (deep-tissue massage), physio-therapy, lifestyle/work modifications and nutritional advice.
